Good news folks. The club will resume shooting on Saturday 6th June 2020. Here are the details Greg has sent out to club members. Full details have also been posted on the club’s FaceBook page:
Good Morning to You All
I hope that everyone’s been keeping safe and well.
Now that the government has loosened restrictions on community sporting events it’s time we got back to shooting, and we’re going to start tomorrow!
While most restrictions have been lifted there are of course still some physical distancing and hygiene procedures that we will need to adhere to, and as an organization we are required to have these acknowledged and noted in a COVID-19 Safety Plan. I have attached Archers of Greenwood’s plan – please read the plan as it details some procedures that differ from our normal way of operating. By attending the shoot you are acknowledging that you accept the club’s COVID-19 Safety Plan. The committee will review the plan on a regular basis and it will be updated taking into account any further government recommendations or restrictions.
The main changes are a requirement to maintain a 1.50 metre gap between you and anyone else (members of your household excepted), and to hand-sanitize regularly. We will also need to disinfect any club equipment between uses. To that end we are encouraging members to bring and only use their own equipment where possible. If you use any club equipment you will need to disinfect it after you use it. We will provide disinfectant wipes for this purposes, and hand sanitizer.
We are also encouraging members to pay their weekly shooting fee via direct payment to the club’s bank account prior to shooting. Please contact the Treasurer or refer to the e-mail sent to members or the club’s FaceBook page for the account details.
Shooting fees are:
Adults – $10.00
Children and Pensioners – $5.00
Equipment Hire – $5.00 in addition to shooting fees.
If you are unable to pay using this method (and you have not prepaid your shooting fees) we will still accept cash, however it looks as though most organisations are moving away from accepting cash payment and we will need to look at alternative payment methods in the future.
Setup and pack-up will be monitored to ensure that physical distancing requirements are being adhered to. Common sense should prevail here and you will need to set up and pack away your own target.
Finally, in the short term, we will not be supplying chips, chocolates or drinks, so please bring your own sustenance.
Although we can comfortably accommodate 100 people on the oval, we are encouraging members to discourage relatives and friends from attending at this stage. We have several new procedures that we need to ensure are being observed, so the fewer unnecessary attendees the better. Obviously children under 15 are still required to be accompanied by a parent but please limit it to one parent if possible.
Things will look and feel a little different to how they have in the past, but I think we’re all getting use to that by now. Hope to see you all down shooting tomorrow.
Kind regards,
Greg
